Our History
In the mid ‘80’s, Arnie Elliott had a dream. He’d been pounding nails for 20+ years and wanted to start a business selling the top-quality products he’d been using as a builder. When the Old Rock School came up for sale, he saw his chance. Arnie and his wife, Candy, bought the school and converted it into Astro U.P. His goal was to make a decent living for his employees and his family by delivering the best products at the best prices. But Arnie didn’t bank on how many great friends and experiences he’d have as a result. Contractors and residential customers alike flock to Astro U.P. for everything from vinyl siding to every window imaginable. 20 years later Arnie is retired. He dreams now of big walleye, deer, and turkeys. But he always has time for the grandchildren and often stops in at Astro to check up on things.
Astro is now managed by Candy Elliott, Jennifer Bagwell (Arnie and Candy’s daughter), and Aaron Robitaille. Maybe it’s the way that we feel YOUR project is OUR project, or the fact that we handle all the little details without missing a beat that keep you coming back. Whatever the reason, we’re glad you made the trip!
